The Coin Went Flying Today

This is the coin I was given by Mary Lefon at the reception after the Memorial at Fort Rosecrans in San Diego on that day We All said goodbye.

It spent an hour in the air in an F-16CG, 87-0352, piloted by Major Jeff “Oscar” Kennedy. Major Kennedy is one of my favorites here at the 416.

It flew. Lex flew.

416 Promotion.

January 20, 1974 was the beginning of what we know as the F-16 Fighting Falcon legacy began. It is also the day I first reported aboard USS Independence CV62.

This is the promo for the 416.

Hot Rod Jets. The Captain would be pleased, I do believe.
