The Definitive Amelia Earhart Book?

I have to admit, ever since I have been in high school, lessee – that is at least 20 years ago – – no – over 40 – I have had a fascination with the fate of Amelia Earhart and her navigator Fred Noonan.

I can remember reading a book where the author claimed that she was secretly living in New Jersey after her disappearance.

Others claim that she was on a secret mission for FDR and was executed by the Japanese on Saipan.

I can see why it became a nearly 80 year mystery.

It was one of those……………..Get the hell out of Dodge kind of things

Missus ORPO and I are ensconsed at The Vandenberg Inn on Beautiful Vandenberg AFB……………………Sixty Bucks a night with no taxes beats the hell out of One Hundred Twenty Bucks a night with taxes………………………………….at the Motel 6 in Pismo Beach!

We made a brief stop at the Von’s in Grover Beach after dinner at Fin’s Bar and Grille down on the beach…………………………..

This is one of the flavours I acquired………………………….

Passages. Sad Passages.

Brownsville, Texas
It is where ships go to die.
Forrestal and Saratoga are unrecognizable.
Constellation arrived a couple of weeks ago.
The three Good Ships I made cruises on are in the queue. Independence, Ranger and Kitty Hawk.
Yeah.
It hurts.
Old friends they are to so many who chose the sea.
The times are indeed, a changing.
