Christmas Weekend on California’s Central Coast

California’s Central Coast.
We love this place.

Among The Joshua Trees

The VQ at Vandenberg was our headquarters.

The Monarch Butterfly Grove is an obligatory stop during the time the Butterflies are here.

The Ocean was making just enough noise as well…………………………………….I think of my departed friends, Lex, Buck and Lionel when I see the sunset from Oceano Beach south of Pismo.

I love the area around Morro Bay and San Simeon. Also like Pismo Beach – have a neighbor of Portuguese descent – said Pismo is known as the “Portuguese Palm Springs”

  2. In Sept 2003 Mrs HD and I rode a motorcycle from Yosemite, across to the coast at San Francisco and down US1 to LA. Some very nice terrain and a delightful climate.

Last night I had a vivid dream. I was having a long and meaningful conversation with an old comrade of mine who, nine years ago, was taken too early. In my dream were propping up a bar and putting the world to rights even though in the dream I’d realised he was merely a ghost returning to me for a chat. It was vivid. I awoke in a peaceful and happy frame of mind. I will phone his widow today and tell her about it.
