    I have always thought those half-car half airplanes are neither fish nor fowl. Good at neither. And the concept is not new – there was something immediately post-war that never (economically) “got off the ground – and in the 70s I think someone made a flying Pinto. (From a car that was never good – as a car! )

    They aren’t very fast on the ground and aren’t very maneuverable in the air.

    Then there’s the Amphicar – http://www.amphicar.com/ – I actually can remember seeing a few of those on the road growing up in Los Angeles

    But again – neither fish nor fowl – good at neither –
