This is the coin I was given by Mary Lefon at the reception after the Memorial at Fort Rosecrans in San Diego on that day We All said goodbye.
It spent an hour in the air in an F-16CG, 87-0352, piloted by Major Jeff “Oscar” Kennedy. Major Kennedy is one of my favorites here at the 416.
It flew. Lex flew.
Nicely done.
Thanks.
I appreciate it.
I second THAT. BZ, Glenn.
Ooh Rah!
Well deserved it is!
I’ll bet Lex was smiling!
NICE.
sigh I have to believe Lex was right there with Major Kennedy, bringing out the very best of the Major’s abundant abilities. Thank you for sharing that with us.
Beautiful.
Nice one sir
I thought the passing of some months and the moving on to other tasks had lessened the loss…
….fortunately this picture of the coin brought all the fond momories of Lex and the good folks who commented here flodding back…well done ORPO1. Best, Frank C.
I thought it would be welcomed by all.
Major Kennedy is a great guy and a selectee for Lt. Colonel.
Bravo Zulu. If I may suggest: Let’s make this coin a “traveling memorial.” Let it fly as often and in as many places as we can. Keep an accountability chain and pass it around. I always wanted to give Lex a chance to fly in the Plastic Plane. 🙂
Splendid Idea, Comjam!
Capital idea, CJ! I’d like to join the queue. I would suggest that ample precautions be made in the hand-offs to prevent it’s loss in transit. I had invited Lex up here for to spend time bugsmashing on the numerous grass strips here in northern New England and get him some float time in a J3 Cub with a 85hp engine on Lake Champlain.
