  1. Funny how you get spoiled. I was eager, as ever, to read the comments. But with this one – probably due to the advancement of its age – the comments are completely closed.
Still – to have his words still available like this is a soothing balm. We passed 7 months yesterday…

  2. When I first thought about serving my country, I considered the Air Force, but decided I’d rather be in the military instead.

(Sigh) Ah, well… even LEX had his parochial moments. But we loved him anyway. ;-)

  3. Bill Brandt

When I read this I thought of his post a few days ago when he and his flyers saved an ambushed Marine unit from annihilation (and turned the tables for them).

On JDAMs I think they have revolutionized bombing – can’t remember the exact statistic but when in WW2 it took so many tons thrown all around to destroy what you wanted – now one bomb.

Buck: I caught that remark too! But, speaking as one who was in the Army a short time I think there is a bit of jealousy among the other services too ;-)

My 2nd station – barracks at Neubruecke – an old crumbling stucco Army base with an Air Force contingent – we were surprised that the Air Force barracks – on an Army base – were noticeably in better condition.

    Nothing wrong with living well!

But it would be hard to dress up a station like Thule Greenland ;-)
