…gotta hate.
Today’s feminists – piss me off. Well and truly.
And no one does hate these days quite like the liberal feminist. Witness these comments at the link, which is a brief bio of Janna Ryan, wife of Paul Ryan – recently announced V.P. on the Romney campaign.
Stepford wife. – Tyler Durden, Paper Street, 11/8/2012 13:32
Another blonde Republican wife. How original ! She’ll wear bright red like the rest of them, when hubby makes a speech. And LONG HAIR. GOP loves that homey look. I hope she doesn’t have any living relatives over 60, because her husband will make sure they have few benefits from the Government,. She’ll be ok. She’s married to a Congressman, and they take care of their own. – Mary Brickman, Lansdale, PA USA, 11/8/2012 13:57
“Giving up career for family? That never seems to end well for women, does it?” – Sarah, USA, 11/8/2012 20:03
And this gem from the appropriately named commenter – Julie Craven:
American women need to rise up and enusre that these republican, white, uber wealthy men, who marry well educated women who do nothing with themselves but give birth to a pack of kids, do not control this country. The fact that Mitt Romney has come this close to becoming the President of the United States is truly embarrassing. How many grandkids does the man have, eighteen? That is beyond irresponsible to do to the planet and this country. He will roll women’s rights back to the dark ages. I am sick to death of what the republican party represents, war, repression of women, elitism, religious fanatiscism, destruction of the environment, and nothing but an artificial, superficial value system that the rest of the world despises. That’s just what we need, two stepford wives as first and second ladies and two men who love to keep their wives pregnant and dellight in nothing more than shooting a few innocent wild animals. – julie craven, San Diego USA, 11/8/2012 17:00
So…all this leaves me a little confused.
In 2008 Sarah Palin was vilified for being a working mother with 5 children, including commiting the cardinal sin of refusing to abort her 5th child, the adorable Trig who has special needs.
And now Janna Ryan is being vilified for being a stay-at-home mother with 3 children.
So if Ms. Ryan had 5 children – would that be OK?
I appreciate the feminist movement back in the 60s and 70s; there were egregious inequalities that women still face every day they work outside of the home. Sexual harrassment, double standards and unequal pay still dog even the most accomplished, educated, over-achieving female.
However I thought feminism was also about women having the right to choose things for their own lives – like keeping a child or aborting one. Like working outside the home vs. being a stay-at-home mother.
I thought feminism was about giving women options that they hadn’t had before.
Janna Ryan received her Bachelor’s Degree at one of the country’s most prestigious woman’s universities – Wellesley. Considered an Ivy League college it is notoriously difficult to gain entry to this elite institution. She followed that up attending George Washington University School of Law while working at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and living on her own.
Janna Ryan – worked outside of the home after her college graduation until the birth of her first child – when she was into her 30s. Janna Ryan made the choice to stay at home with her children.
And the liberals will hate her for it.
I hope the Ryan family is ready for the onslaught. Because it won’t be enough for the MSM and countless others to pillage and plunder the record of her husband; Janna Ryan and her children will be thrust on center stage for the same brutal treatment.

Janna’s – and Sarah’s – sin is not being to the left in their politics – if they were all of their attributes would be celebrated instead of vilified.
Which itself is strange.
One would think – if these feminists were really feminists – their accomplishments would be celebrated – period.
For Palin to go from Wasilla city council to governor – along the way upsetting the “old boys network” – and the “go along with the oil companies to get along” Alaska legislature – well, that should be cause for celebration…
By anyone for women’s rights.
I’m a bit puzzled by the acrimony towards Palin and Ryan, except for their being Republican, given that Nancy Pelosi has…help me out here…how many children? and has a net worth of what? and spent how much money on her taxpayer funded junkets on ‘Air Force Three’, which often included an alcohol abusing son? One more thing: how far through the Obamacare Bill did Pelosi get before voting for it?
My high school classmate, Stepfanie Kramer, may not have had a bunch of kids, but she chose to stay home after her successful TV series, Hunter, and raise her daughter. Stef is happier than a clam, and does with her life what she will. What does that make her?
On the other hand, one of my sister’s best friends in high school, Mare Winningham, raises 5 children and has a very busy career. It would seem that, regardless of the number of children raised, being a responsible mom make them reprehensible to the Left (Socialists)?
Oh, I guess it’s because neither is blonde.
Okay.
Never mind. I understand now.
Man, did I have a wicked crush on Stephanie Kramer when Hunter was on TV!
I think the acrimony explained thusly: You see, the press and the left (but I repeat myself) are first and foremost GROUPISTs:
-You are a member of a group.
-That group determines your beliefs which allows our betters to determine how we shall be rewarded or or penalized.
-Deviation from the group orthodoxy shall not be tolerated because that makes the work of our betters difficult.
-Certain groups are better than others as the result of having been oppressed.
-The more oppressed you group the worse the heresy of deviation from the orthodoxy.
-Women have been among the most oppressed so if a woman deviates form the accepted orthodoxy she mus be crushed or others may think they can also deviate. We wouldn’t need NOW or the ACLU or NARAL or the EEOC or the NLRB to tell us …..everything. THEN WE WOULD HAVE CHAOS!
I am a white male who must atone for my oppressor privilege by supporting the goals of the left but having been an oppressor my heresy is to be expected so being conservative is not really a big sin.
Mongo,
“how far through the Obamacare Bill did Pelosi get before voting for it?”
About as far as the line which states, ” Congress will be exempt from this law”.
Scorpions–that’s what they are. And you remember the old story about the frog and the scorpion crossing the river. Now one might change the “scorpion” to vicious backbitng witches and not be far off–but scorpion will do.
There’s going to be a particular problem with the Ryans and that is that they are both devout Catholics. And if you think the fate of the Republic will rise and fall on whether a wealthy Georgetown law student can get all the free condoms she wants paid for by the taxpayer–well, then you’re going to do what most scorpions do. You’re going to sting the heck out of the Ryans.
It says more about the scorpion than it does about the Ryans–but scorpions will do what scorpions do.
What has happened during the Obama years is that the mentally disturbed have felt empowered to give voice to their thoughts and / or to display the low “quality” of their educations through public expression. Too much of this country has been mal-educated and there are far too many losers, such as the negative commenters in the linked article. It’s a war folks. Might not be shooting war, but it’s a major battle to decide the future of this country. If you question what I said: Do you want people such as these commenters leading this country, or educating any kids, or having any power whatsoever to determine the direction of America? They want to lead; they want their beliefs to be the mainstream of thought here, and they need to be put down and defeated forever.
I’m ready to locate, close with, and destroy…
Haters gonna hate…. just sayin.
TOTAL hypocrisy–ALL a matter of whose Ox is being gored. NO ONE complained about Catholic Kennedy clans’ various stay-at-home moms or hordes of kids. It was all so fashionably wonderful, don’t ya know. Camelot and all that. And lefty women politicians/professional women–be they Governors or Attorneys? Can’t get enough of ‘em! Remember Attny Hillery baby being labeled “America’s smartest women?” Or remember Dixie Lee Ray, PhD and former Head of the AEC under Nixon? Elected Gov of Washington State (D) she quickly became a non-person to the MSM and the left when her conservative environmental views (unfortunately based on real science–the horror! ) became widely known.
Lefty feministas? Hiram, you’ve got a target-rich environment!
