This evening in The Kern County Desert

Reblogged from Among The Joshua Trees:

We have had a bit of weather. Mostly winds kicking up a lot of dust and knocking over my trash bin and recycling bin. So, I figured a few pics would be interesting to all...........or not.

  1. Ah that high Desert. Love it, I’d take Fox field (Lancaster) over Fresno
    or Ramona any time….

  2. Bill Brandt

Years ago while driving – on Hwy 58 I think – I passed California City – it seemed – at the time – like a huge real estate development that just stopped – It reminded me of Indian Lake Estates – in the middle of FL – a huge development along :”alligator alley” – that highway that goes from Tampa to Vero Beach (?) – going through Yeehaw Junction (can’t mention that highway without mentioning Yeehaw Junction!) – anyway Indian Lake Estates was a huge development that went bankrupt around 1957 – and you’d drive on miles of old asphalt residential roads with no homes – it is slowly building up – the golf clubhouse looked like it was frozen in time since 1957 –

Looking at CA City’s website looks like they finally took off –

    Back to work…
